KINSHASA, DRC – The OPERANAUTS DRC team proudly hosted a dynamic public relations event to celebrate and support the talented music leaders and choristers of the Chorale Angélus. The event highlighted the dedication and artistry of the choir, creating a platform to share their inspiring journey with a broader audience.
The event marked a significant moment in recognizing the impact of Chorale Angélus and reinforcing the importance of opera music in fostering community and cultural expression. This ambitious nine-month project engaged: 15 choir directors; 8 local parishes; 2 university choirs; and over 200 choristers across 5 communes in Kinshasa-Congo.
“Performing opera or classical music has always felt like entering another artistic dimension for us. It’s truly the style of our choir-we have ambitions to be more expansive than just liturgical music. That’s why we are entering competitions, to go further in this mission for outreach through song.” — Moïse Yumba, President of Chorale Angélus (Joy Happenings: Choirs in Opera)
