Operanauts is excited to announce that special edition OPERANAUTS 8th Anniversary tapestry/blankets are for sale.

The tapestry/blankets each bear a collage of renderings of the Operanauts icon, an outline of Kinshasa, as interpreted by ten artists from the Operanauts community in an art style called the zentangle.

“The zentangle is an American method for drawing, said Norbert Reidinger, CEO of Reidinger. “It not only promotes concentration and creativity but at the same time increases personal well-being.”

Teaching artist Diane Forer led the zentangle workshop that produced the tapestry/blanket art at Operanauts’ annual end-of-year celebration in December 2021. After the pieces were completed, each artist took a photo of their work and sent it to Operanauts, who combined the pieces for the design of the tapestry/blanket.

“The symbolism of all of us working together meditatively … on an art project about helping others in Africa was a meaningful way to celebrate Operanauts accomplishments of 2021,” said Amanda Berry, a long-time friend of Operanauts.

So is it a tapestry or a blanket?

“It is so special that it can be hung as a tapestry on the wall or used as a cotton blanket for cool summer nights,” event host Joy Bechtler said.

Operanauts Tapestry/blankets cost $129.50.  If you would like to purchase one, please make your check payable to Operanauts, Inc. and mail it to the following address: Operanauts, Inc. 166 Witherspoon St. Ste. #2, Princeton, NJ 08542.
